COVID-19 Official Statement
Here at Furdeco we do a lot of essential deliveries of white goods nationwide, washing machines, fridges etc including deliveries to the elderly and vulnerable who need these items. Especially as many will be self isolating over the coming months. For the moment, we are continuing business while ensuring our staff and customers are kept as safe as possible.
Furdeco are following government guidelines for all deliveries and have taken the following steps to continue business and keep fulfilling orders while keeping both our teams and customers safe:
Hygiene packs including gloves and antibacterial gel have been given to all staff
Our social distancing measures mean that, we are currently only providing doorstep non/contact deliveries therefore assembly/installation cannot be completed.
Our teams will deliver to the doorstep and make visual contact with the customer to confirm receipt.
All deliveries will be reverted to paperwork rather than using the handsets to limit and chance of contamination and all paperwork will be signed by the delivery team to ensure there is no direct contact.
For any customer who absolutely needs the assembly and/or installation service and cannot accept the product without, we will hold onto the order until it is again safe to carry out the full service.
Our deliveries Nationwide include deliveries to the highlands of Scotland, normally we would cover this area on multi day routes meaning our teams would stop up overnight in a hotel and complete deliveries the next day. This hasn’t been possible as hotels are currently on shutdown and so keep customers getting their goods we have been sending smaller routes out to these areas with double or triple drivers on board so each can take adequate rest and make sure that customers keep getting the items they need.
We feel in these cases the customers needs outweigh what will hopefully be a temporary situation for all of us. We want to and will do everything we can to help and to keep a sense of normality at these uncertain times without compromising safety.
For further peace of mind, please read the below statement released by the WHO relating to the risk of home delivery packages and if they are safe to continue.
“Is it safe to receive a package from any area where COVID-19 has been reported?
Yes. The likelihood of an infected person contaminating commercial goods is low and the risk of catching the virus that causes COVID-19 from a package that has been moved, travelled, and exposed to different conditions and temperature is also low.”
