Meet the Team, Jas Sandhu
Regional Transport Manager at Furdeco Home Delivery
Describe your average day…
My day starts with analysing the fleets and staffing, any early morning changes are put into action here. I finalise numbers for our vehicles on the road; crews required and jobs per route for the next day. I conduct any interviews lined up for the day and get involved in the recruitment process. The delivery crews and I work together to manage the maintenance required to keep the vehicles in good working order, this may mean dropping off vehicles to a garage, so I fit that in to support also.
Tell us how you came to be in this role?
I started off with Furdeco as a driver’s mate, I rapidly moved up into a driver’s position. Whilst working as a driver I started taking new driver’s and driver’s mates out on routes to train them. 5 years later I was happy to be promoted to Regional Transport Manager. I have been in this role for nearly 5 years now and I am still enjoying it.
What’s your favourite part of the job?
